Around the castle, in the “Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle”, plants from all over the world have been brought together, and typical landscapes of South Tyrol are presented. Paths meander uphill through water and terraced gardens, leading to the Sensual Garden or the Japanese Garden, to the cacti and succulents mound or to cultivated plants of the south, like the olive tree and the grapevine.
 
 

Ötzi-Museum
South Tyrolean - Archeological Museum

Over 5000 years ago, a man climbed up to the icy heights of the Schnalstal glacier and died. He was found by accident in 1991, with his clothes and equipment, mummified and frozen: an archaeological sensation and a unique snapshot of a Copper Age man. For several years highly specialised research teams examined the mummy and the articles found with it. They have been on exhibit since March 1998 at the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology.
 
 

Sigmundskron Castle

This castle is one of the oldest in South Tyrol and represents at the same time one of the most important symbols of its history. Castle Sigmundskron is also internationally known because it became the seat of Reinhold Messner's Mountain Museum Projekt. Different exposions at the Mountain-museum tell us not only the history of the castle itself, but also that of the surrounding mountains and their tribes.
 
 

Tyrol Castle

The Medieval Castle dominates Merano and the surrounding valleys and gives its name to the entire region of Tyrol. In the tower of the building houses a historical and cultural museum where visitors can get to know all secrets of South Tyrol’s history and traditions. And what were a castle without the raptors? In the close vicinity of the Castle you will find a centre dedicated to these splendid birds, where wounded and ill animals find refuge and let free to fly for the joy of all visitors!
 
 

Juval Castle of Reinold Messner

The fortress, built on a pre-historic square, was built around 1278 by Hugo von Montalban. Since 1983, the castle has been the residence of Reinhold Messner, who houses a number of different art collections there, such as the extensive Tibet collection, a mountain picture gallery, as well as a mask collection from five continents.
 
 

Labyrinthgarden

A large adventure garden with a maze in the middle of the vineyards. An amphitheatre, terraces, lakes, as well as other landscape attractions, make up this garden, which is part of the farm with its historical house. This fascinating place has an atmosphere which captures both people and nature. Performances, guided tours astrological elements and objects of art invite you to walk around and discover the beauty of the garden. It is a place for nature lovers, culture fans as well as people interested in art, both young and old.
 
 

 Braunsberg Castle in Lana
 

It was referred about the lords of Braunsberg for the first time 1231; from 1492 the castles was in posession of the counts Trapp.
This castle is just a simple facily with a curtain wall, a residencial building, and a small chapel (St. Blasius).
 
 

Churburg

The Churburg is the loveliest castle of the Val Venosta valley in South Tyrol. This valiant castle was built in 1253 by the Bishops of Chur, was then taken over by the bailiffs of Matsch and has been in the hands of the Counts Trapp since 1504.
 
 

Museum Passeier

The Museum Passeier was newly built at the Sandhof, the home of Andreas Hofer (1767 - 1810). Due to an old documentary and many original exhibits, Andreas Hofer and the Tyrolean fight for freedom in 1809 are the emphasis of this museum. In the barn, you will find an extensive collection of folklore from the Passeier Valley.
