Merano has really a lot to offer. For adults and children. Cozy family-hikings through the forest, maybe to one of the wonderful lakes.., an old alp-cabine with animals and petting zoo or just for a simple picknick, enjoying the peaceful nature..
Here's an abstract of some of our most beautiful areas:
Monte San Vigilio/Vigljoch
You can reach the wonderful hiking-paradise Monte San Vigilio/Vigiljoch within 5 min by foot starting directly from Lana. This is a real paradise for nature-lovers: forests, pastures, alp-cabin, overwhelming tops and really nice little churches.
Hiking-tracks for the whole family: For example you can start from the mountain station and reach the "Jocher" by chair-lift (10min.) or continuing to the "Seespitz"(20min). Then, at the lake, next to the restaurant, your children can play and have fun.
During winter-months, this is area turns into a wonderful ski-region for toboggan-runs and winter-hikings.

Don't miss the exciting Ski-and hiking area of Merano 2000.. open in winter as well as durign summer-months.

Felixer Alm
Comfortable family-hikings: Starting from Lana, over the "Passo Palade" til "St. Felix am Deutsch-Nonsberg".
From here you can follow the forestal-road and walking through pastures and larch-woods you will reach the "Felixer Alm" in about 1 hour. South Tyrolean delicacies such as farmer's Speck, home-made chees, "Kaiserschmarren", "Speckknödel" etc. are waiting for you. Nearby a small, hidden lake.
Taser Alm – High Rope Course
The high rope course, situated above Scenna, is one of the biggest in Europe. Steel cables, rope bridges and normal ropes are anchored between trees in 15m height and form different obstacles which build a challenging whole.
„Geoparc“ Bletterbach
South Tyrol's biggest gulch.. at the foot of "Corno bianco", in the southern side of the region, is very often referred to as the South Tyrolean Grand Canyon". Courtyard Bacher at Vöran
The Courtyard Bacher is an ideal starting point to ride in to the ground.
Beautiful bridle-paths lead you through spruce and fir forests, past biotopes and small ponds.
It is situated on 1100 m. In autumn and spring is the courtyard very beautiful. But also riding in winter is very special.
