Wineland South Tyrol

Wine, culture and tradition are strongly connected. The overwhleming vineyards in front of wonderful snow-covered mountains are synonym for extraordinary and unfrogettable wines. South Tyrol will please you with its best quality-wines. The sunny climate of Merano is famous for its good wines. The soil, rich in loam and lime, the mediterrean climate, the modest precipitations and the cool evening-breeze (causing great differencies in temperature between night and day) make sure the berries reach their full maturity: giving the wines their unmistakable character.

Famous wine-cellars
MERANER KELLEREI
This is an area known for its lusty, elegant and light wines. If you once taste one, you will notice that the slogan "So schmeckt die Meraner Sonne" - "The taste of Merano's sun!", isn't just an advertising message.

TIEFENBRUNNER - Schlosskellerei Castel Turmhof in Entiklar
The estate owners, Herbert Tiefenbrunner and his son Christof, both experienced wine experts, produce about 700,000 bottles per year here, of which 70% are white wines and the remainder red. The vine stocks grow primarily on the south-facing slopes surrounding the castle, and the optimal location is always selected for each individual grape variety.
BURGGRÄFLER KELLEREI
The Marlinger Wine-cellar was renamed "Burggräfler Kellerei" during the eighties and is one of the first wine cooperatives in South Tyrol. The graps will be supllied by farmers from Lana, Cermes, Marlengo, Lagundo, Merano, Tirolo, Riffiano, Caines and Schenna.
The positions of the Burgraviato-area are characterized by a moltitude of individual and special mini-climates.
